Padubidri: In a bid of overtake a Hubli-Mangalore bound lorry, a KSRTC Volvo bus rammed into a tree here on Tuesday,July 29.

Two passengers Ramdath couple and Suchala seriously injured, other 40 passengers sustained minor injuries.

It is learnt that, Mangalore-Manipal route KSRTC Volvo bus driver lost his control, in a bid to overtake a lorry, he failed to slow down and came to a halt before hitting the tree. The passengers had to then struggle to come out of the bus.

Interestingly despite being a State run bus, the Volvo didn’t have an emergency exit door.

Padubidri Police arrived at the spot.
