Karkala: As the Venoor mega bath of Gomata ended, Dharmasthala Gomata Bahubali had his holy bath on feet, and now a car festival at Karkala Gomata betta (hill) has  stated to attract religious pilgrims. This little known car festival held in full moonlight of Magha is attractive to see.

Last Tuesday, Feb.7. thousands of devotes thronged the Karkala car fest, accompanied by Padapuja and Kalabhisheka till late night hours.

The Mahamastatabhisheka in Karkala to the desolate 42 feet tall Bahubali Gomata black stone idol is due in 2014, and this expectation left a sheen of bright hope on this week’s car festival at the Gomata hills.

The Venur devotees rushed to Karkala to take a look at Karkala image, under a full moonlight.

Lecture Jain Muni Pattachrya and Tulu Scholar ELN Alva were presents.

M.K. Vijaya Kumar welcomed pilgrims. Ratnaraja Sridhar Kadamba, and Nemiraj Ariga were present. Nagarja Indra conducted the Jain rituals.
