Mangaluru : ISKCON, Arya samaja road, Balmatta , Mangalore has celebrated Kartika Deepotsava on 6th Nov with Grand arrangements and special alankara for their Lordships Sri Sri Krishna Balarama.
Kartika Deepotsava one full month Deepotsava celebrations from 8th oct 2014 ended on 6th nov 2014.
The Deepotsava concluded with Tulasi puja, Sandhya Arati, Narsimha Kirtan, Srimad Bhagavad gita discourse and Damodara Deepotsava with a gaiety and Devotion.The devotees given ghee lamp to offer to the lord Krishna Balaram.
“Amongall yugas Satya yuga is dearmost to Lord Krishna, among all the rivers, river Ganga is dearmost and among all the months, the month of kartika is the dearmost to Supreme Lord Krishna.”
In this month many festivals like Diwali, Govardhan puja, Go puja, Daan teras, Tulasi vivaaha etc happens. Devotees of the Lord Krishna takes austerities, vow, increase their reading scriptures like Srimad Bhagavad gita and Srimad Bhagavatam, Increase Chanting Holy name of the Lord and perform charity in this month.
It is said in scriptures that “Any one who offers Lamp to the Lord in temple of Lord Sri Hari, he becomes free from sinful activities which he has committed from millions of Kalpas(1 kalpa=one day of Brahma=4300000000 years).”
Thus to provide facility for the residents of Mangalore to become free from sinful activities and to advance in bhakti, ISKCON Mangalore headed by His Grace Karunya Sagar Dasa had organised one full month Deepotsava celebrations from 8th oct 2014 to 6th nov 2014 . All the visiting devotees in this entire month were given facility to attend Bhagavad gita class, Grand Damodara Arati and all the people are issued free lamps(diya) daily to do Arati for the Lord and all are given daily dinner Prasadam.
