Mangaluru: Time and again, Karavali has proved that no matter how modern it gets, the religious fervour and inclination towards traditions remains as strong as ever.
As a witness to this, the week saw a rare religious event that unfolded in the region. Nagamandala, one of the most revered religious events in this region, was held at the Sri Kod Dabbu temple in Panambur over the weekend.
The three-day programme, called Nagamangalotsava, was last held 16 years ago — in December 2001. Needless to say, the function was well attended and devotees were pleased to witness such a glorious sight.
A Kola too is shortly scheduled to be held here. The colours, the ambience and the revelry was something those gathered at the venue won’t forget in a hurry.
