Karkala: The Karnataka Taluk deputy registrar’s office watched, as a second division clerk B.M.Nagesh was getting arrested by Udupi Lokayukta officers on Monday, on the allegation of receiving a bribe.
For a piece of 3 sale deed copies in that office, an application was submitted by Nandalike Sandeep Kumar paying Rs.435 a piece, but Nagesh demanded a bribe of Rs.1350 to go with it. The Lokatukta office was pre-informed about the deal by Sandeep and trap was set for the clerk.
On Monday as Sandeep was paying the bribe money to Nagesh, Lokayukta officials swooped and caught Nagesh with the bribe amount.
The Lokayukta team was led by Dinesh Kumar and Thimmayya, along with 10 staff members for necessary action.
