Udupi: It is a tiresome and tedious wait for ration cards for the several who have been waiting in serpentine queues at the old office of the deputy commissioner of Udupi. People who want to avail fresh ration cards find the process very tedious and tiresome though the government has not set any time limit for the process to complete.

Serpentine queues have been the order of the day at the old DC office and people waiting in the queue have lots of complaints against the authorities. Each one of them have a different tale to tell and some old people find it extremely difficult to stand in the queue the whole day in the absence of any bench nor any drinking water facility.

One of the women  standing in the queue said she has not yet received the ration card though she has been trying since he past five to six years ever since she constructed a new house and says it has been an endless wait since then.Some women with their tiny tots too can be seen in the queue.

However officials say every day nearly 150 to 200 cards are issued and that there are five computers hole the public say there are only two computers.
