Mangalore: In a significant judgement the second additional District and sessions Court, on July 25, Thursday granted bail to 16 of the accused arrested in the Morning Mist Homestay attack case.
The Court has asked them to furnish a bond of Rs 50000 and a personal surety.
The police had arrested a toal of 38 persons in the case. A total of 44 persons were chargesheeted. As of now the main accused Subhash Padil and Munna are still in judicial custody. Even Manoj who was recently arrested has not been granted bail.
The infamous attack allegedly by Hindu Jagarana Vedike activists had hit the headlines a year ago when the activists had forced entry into the homestay and assaulted the young men and women who were celebrating birthday there.
