Bantwal : A 24-year-old woman, were killed in a tragic road accident in BC Road on March 20, Friday.

Deepti Rai, a resident of Perla, was killed after she was run over by a tanker that hit the motorcycle she was riding pillion at B.C. Road junction. Her fiancé Vinod Rai (23) has been admitted to a private hospital. She was engaged to be married on April. 

The Bantwal Town police said Deepti Rai was going with Vinod Rai, also from Perla, on the latter’s motorcycle towards Mangaluru. The tanker that was filled with asphalt hit the motorcycle just as it was crossing the B.C. Road junction. Deepti Rai fell off the motorcycle and came under the tanker’s wheels. She died on the spot around 12.30 p.m.
