Mangaluru : Police arrested a youth who trying to rape and murder a woman of Haleangady in her work place.

The accused identified as Shivaraja Kulal (28), resident of Bantwal.

A woman, resident of Haleangady, has filed a divorce case in court, as she had some differences with her husband. Two years ago, she got acquainted with accused Shivaraja and they were in friendship.

From six months ago, Shivaraja, it is alleged, used to mentally torture the woman. He also tried to rape her. Hence, the woman maintained distance from him.

It is said, accused Shivaraj on May 17 beat the woman on her neck in the elevator of the office building in which the woman works and tried to kill her.

A complaint was filed by the victim.
