Bangalore: The government owned oil companies are gearing themselves up to implement on a trial basis the system of supplying LPG based on Aadhar number. Aadhar number will be mandatory for supply of LPG cylinders in some places of the palace city henceforth.
Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation have already gathered information regarding 50,000 LPG consumers in three residential areas of the city. The Venus Gas Agencies, Prasad Gas Services and Little Gas Services are joining hands with the companies in this direction.
It is learnt, the gas agencies will soon make it compulsory for LPG consumers to provide Aadhar number and bank account numbers to them. Already, 12000 consumers have provided the information, reports said.
