Bantwal : The DK district unit of Aam Aadmi Party staged protest at toll gate at Brahmarakootlu on Mangalore- Bangalore national highway on April 18, Friday against hike in toll fee collection from passing vehicles.

Addressing the protestors, M R Vasudev, AAP candidate for DK Lok Sabha constituency said that it was the AAP members who protested against the fee hike on April 1 and in turn deputy commissioner had issued an order to the authorities not to hike the toll fee. But still they failed to follow his instructions.

Vasudev also said that AAP condemn the contractors of the four-laning project of the national highway who have increased the fee ignoring DC’s order.

Hence he urged the national highway authorities and the deputy commissioner to maintain the same original fee and erect a board stating the payers to pay the original fee and not the hiked fee.
