Mangalore : The members of Dakshina Kannada District unit of the Aam Aadmi Party met in the city on Sunday to elect its office bearers to form the Formal District Level Committee of the party, thus dissolving the ad-hoc committee that was formed earlier to launch the party back in February. This is the formal committee that has come into existence following the democratic norms of the Party’s process of formalising the structure to the grassroot level.
Members who met at the Sahodaya Hall in the city, elected a District Committee comprising of 15 members and an advisory committee comprising of seven members to chalk out the action plan for the party’s activities in the district in the time to come. The Formal District committee will meet in the days to come to elect the office bearers including the core committee comprising of the district convener, co-convener, secretary and treasurer along with the working committee.
AAP State Treasurer Chandrakanth conducted the election process two other representatives from the state. Ad-hoc committee convener Robert Rosario, co-convener S Nandagopal among others were present.
The District Committee elected on the occasion included the following members : Robert Rosario, Dharmendra, Sulochana Hegde, Ajay Kumar, Vinod Rao, Walter D’Souza, Shiva Kumar, Harshitha, Suresh Attavar, Rohan Shiri, Roshan Ullal, Sandeep, Satish Rai, Harsha Samrajya and Ramdas Nambiar. The members of the committee were drawn from cross section of the society which included professionals, businessmen, housewives, students among others.
The Advisory Committee comprised of : S Nandagopal, Dr. Satish Rao, Ida D’Souza, Mukesh Hegde, Dr. Sudhamathi, Shammy Shiri and I C Shetty.
