Delhi : BJP leader Subramanian Swamy stated in no uncertain terms that the new entrant to Delhi’s political scene, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), will help further the objectives of the Congress.
He alleged that the two parties were collaborating for the upcoming Assembly elections.
Addressing a press conference here, he noted that the AAP had not pursued any corruption case to its logical conclusion, despite its fierce anti-corruption stance.
“They just shoot and scoot. They do not take any case to its logical conclusion. Did they go to the court [in the Robert Varda case]?” he asked.
He added that the party lacked credibility on all issues, including corruption and national integration. Dr. Swamy said the AAP had failed to address allegations of financial donations from the very sources it had condemned.
Dr. Swamy said that to win even a single seat requires a strong presence at the polling booth-level and that the party did not have experienced people at that level. He also accused the party of bringing in anti-national elements into its fold.
“No memorandum of understanding has been signed between the AAP and the Congress because there are no such things in politics. But definitely the AAP will further the objectives of the Congress party,” he said.
