Mangalore : In polities, sometimes no action is taken if a party member misbehaves, especially when he does not attend a dinner, or does not join a yatra (journey) organised by the party for its own promotion. So it is in BJP today.
When L.k Advani arrived in Karnataka from Kerala on October 30, and when to Bangalore for a public address meeting, several BJP ministers and MLAs did not attend the event at all.
They were absent at a dinner hosted by cm, DVS Gowda, who was earlier BJP state unit chief, under BSY rule in state.
Gowda forgave all of them for their absence on French leave and stated later that there was no question of punishing them on their misdeed in a party function. He further explained that if ministers did not attend a cabinet meeting without prier notice, it was discourteous. They have to be present compulsorily.
But participating in a travel programme was a different matter, and no disciplinary action need be taken.
No special meaning should be attached to their absence, as there is no dissension, CM added. He did not confirm on B. Sriramulu again contesting in a Bellary by-poll, as no candidate had been finalised so for.
