Mangaluru: Condemning the worst condition of girl’s hostel in Wenlock hospital, Akhila Bharat Vidhyarthi Parishad staged protest rally which started from Mini Vidhan Soudha and ended in front of DC office on Monday.
ABVP City president Sudheer, while addressing the protestors said that the hostel is not at all safe for the stay of girls. Windows and doors of the hostel are broken and the students are living in a pathetic condition.
“The issue was informed to the local MLA also, but instead of solving the problem he advised to stay away the issue and to concentrate on the studies. The passage between hospital and hostel are used by the patient party to take rest and that makes the students to move to the hostel difficultly,” he said.
Nursing student Akshatha alleged that from past nine months the stipend money has not been paid to the students.
“There are 206 students who come for food and 130 students live there. There are only three cooks and in case one of them is on leave then we should food cook food for ourselves,” she added.
ABVP leaders Anushka Kottary, Chetan Padil, Jayesh and others were present.
