Mangalore : State Secretary of Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Ramesh, held a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Mangalore on Friday demanding a ban on Popular Front of India (PFI) and Campus Front of India (CFI) organisations saying that they are nothing but wings of SIMI (Students Islamic Movement of India)who are purposely carrying out terrorist activities.
They have killed activists of ABVP in Kerala, and also responsible for degrading the peaceful college culture and atmosphere. Through the burqa and scarf issues, they have misguided Muslim girl students, he protested. Certain college lecturers like Pattabhirama Somayaji expressing support to them is also disheartening, he said.
Mangalore which was an earlier example of a neat blend of education as well as a progressive booming city is increasingly becoming a centre for drug mafia.
Certain politicians have a major role in this regard. Being Birthday parties as an excuse to woo youngsters, immoral sexual activities are rampantly taking place.
Girls should avoid such parties and that too in such isolate areas should not be even be thought of, Mr. Ramesh said. The students participated in a procession from Jyoti circle to the Deputy Commissioner’s office where they held the protest.
Tejas, University College Student Council President, in his address said that members of PFI and CFI are terrorists in the guise of students and accused them of having loyalties towards Pakistan.
Pavithra, another ABVP member, said that organisations like PFI and CFI have contributed in creating conflicts among the students.
