Mangaluru: Akhila Bharatiya Vidya Parishad and students from various educational institutions in Dakshina Kannada staged protest insist on suspicious suicide case of Alvas student on Saturday in-front of DC office here.
Protesters urged the authorities an impartial investigation should be conducted in deceased student Kavya(15) and to take necessary action against the offenders.
Kavya, the state level Badminton player, 10th standard student of the Alvas institution was reportedly committed suicide under suspicious circumstances at her hostel room on July 20. She used Sari to hang herself, when her room mates saw the incident, immediately they bring down her body. The hostel management shifted her to Alvas hospital in Moodabidre. Her parents arrived to the spot after half an hour of they informed, the police also arrived to the hospital later.
However, her parents and students at the institute rejected the claim of the staff at Alva’s institute who stated, the girl took extreme step after she failed to secure higher marks in the last exam she faced.
The students submitted a request to DC and urged him to take necessary action against the causal with the suspected death of the student. The protesters also urged the government to hold an investigation into the suspected death of students reported in Alva’s educational institutions earlier. The students have also expressed their suspicion that the police may have played foul play in the suspected suicide case.
The parents of the deceased have decided to move legally against Alva’s Institute to bring the mystery of their daughter’s death into light.
Kavyashri was a native of Mangaluru and daughter of Lokesh, a resident of Yekkaru Devagudde located near Kateel in Mangaluru.
According to the case registered at Moodbidri police station, the girl forced to take this extreme step after she turned depressed following low marks secured in her last examinations.
Kavya was happy in the morning while attending Badminton Practice and School also. She was severely depressed after returning from class, it is said,
