Mangalore: In a retaliatory and condemning action against the forcible action taken on Sunday before down, by Delhi Police to evict Baba Ramdev and a large crowd of 10000 followers sleeping in a pandal,  the local unit of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad members/Colleges students conducted a road obstruction(Rasta Roko) agitation near the DC office gates on Monday, white their elders were observing a 24-hour fasting (sit-down)movement at nearby Town hall till 7 pm today, and took the upa govt to task for its merciless action against women and children sleeping in the pandal at Delhi using tear gas shells and baton-charge by Delhi police forces and BSF.
Ramdev was removed to Haridwar by BSF helicopter, while his followers, were beaten and driven out of pandal under Sn.144 past midnight at 2 Am on Sunday. This is an Emergency situation brought back again” said Mahesh, ABVP secretary in a press Statement today(June6 evening). The ABVP has called for a national agitation on the matter for 2 days.
A human chain was formed in front of DCO gates to prevent road traffic on Monday, but the agitation is expected to continue on Tuesday as well, whereas the 24 hours strike called by elder BJP members (including elected representatives)at the town hall would end at 7Pm on Monday.
The agitators wee addressed by B.Harsha, a member of National Executive  Committee of ABVP, who explained that BABA Ramdev did not conduct a violent agitation in Ramlila grounds, but the UPA govt. committed a nasty deed against democracy, by arresting and taking him away, besides punshing Indian citizens at large. The agitators were led by city secretary Vinay V.Jadhav, Jagdish, Vishalakshi among others. Hundreds of students from several colleges in city participated in the demonstration against the conspiracy of UPA rulers, mainly Congress.
