Mangalore : The state government decision to introduce National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) for medical courses from this academic year, has come under criticism. The Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad staged a protest against this move in Mangalore on November 7, Wednesday.
Addressing the agitators, ABVP State Secretary Yatish Kumar P dubbed the government decision as detrimental to the interests of the students and pointed out that neighbouring states like Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra have opposed the moves to introduce NEET.
He also urged the government to revoke its decision to introduce NEET for medical courses.
Several ABVP members took part in the protest.
