Mangalore : The ABVP staged a protest in Mangalore on  January 4 condemning the brutal gang rape of a student in Delhi.

The students took out a procession from Hampankatta to the Deputy Commissioner’s office shouting slogans demanding stringent punishment for rapists. He said the increasing cases of crime against women  has made the nation hang its head in shame and said youth need to raise its voice against this.

Ramesh K, State Secretary of ABVP, Sushmitha of Canara PU College and others spoke. Later, a memorandum was submitted to the President of India through the Deputy Commissioner.
