Addressing the protestors Prajwal Bangera, from Vivekananda College, Puttur said, Belandoor is the sloppy division, Nearly 10 to 13 students of the institution are being taught at the temporary building in Belandoor by the guest lecturers. The teachers at the Kaniyoor First Grade College occasionally take classes at Belandoor without informing the students at the Kaniyoor campus. The students are facing problems as the classes are not being taken on a regular basis”.
Shyam Bhat, member of ABVP said, a few days ago, the regional joint director of collegiate education in the department of education had said that as per the orders issued by the deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, classes have begun in Belandoor government college from June 23 onwards. The place deprived of the basic facilities at Belnadoor. The lecturers are forced to take classes even though they are not willing. The students usually get back to Kaniyoor for canteen and stationary. The parents and students are denied of the transfer certificates as they want to discontinue the studies owing to the college problems.
The Kaniyoor college building has all the facilities. So we request the college administration to shift the classes to the old building, he urged.

A meeting should be organised between the college authority, administration, principal, students, parents and representatives to take a final decision with regards to shifting of classes”.
The protestors demanded that a fair investigation to be made on the mysterious death of 17-year-old girl near Byndoor in Kundapur,. The case should not expire like that of Akshata murder or Sowjanya case,” they said, urging the DC to come out with a progress report on the investigation into the Sowjanya rape and murder case.
