Mangalore: Members of the Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad staged a protest near the Jyothi Circle in Mangalore on September 5, Wednesday, demanding a ban on the Campus Front of India.
The protest was staged after Sachin Gopal, a student of Kannur College, who had been stabbed allegedly by CFI activists 20 days ago, succumbed to injuries on Wednesday at a hospital in Mangalore.
ABVP State Secretary, Ramesh who addressed the agitators alleged that the CFI has already taken toll of 27 ABVP members so far. He said Sachin was stabbed when he was engaged in an ABVP membership drive inside his college campus. Though Sachin was initially receiving treatment at Periyar Hospital in Kannur, he was shifted to Mangalore when his condition worsened.
