Mangaluru: The student wing of the ABVP staged protest in front of DC’s office demanding free bus pass and neglecting Education sector in the budget presented by the state government.

There were lots of expectations from the state government, The education sector has been completely sidelined, the budget has neglected the poor, backward and talented students of the state. The state government has failed to provide free bus pass, upgrading the hostels meant for SC/ST students and filling of vacant teachers’ posts, The protestors said .

“This is a disappointing budget for teachers and the students,” said Deekshitha, a member of ABVP.

The police detained an ABVP member for not moving away from the protest area despite instructions from the police. They later released him and brought the situation under control.
