Mangalore: Yenepoya institutions organised at their campus in Deralakatte on February 20, the presentation of Academic Excellency awards in a ceremony addressed by Ahmed Mohiuddeen who welcomed the guests and briefed on the awards, as also free seats available at Yenepoya University. The award has cash ranging from Rs 3,000 to 10,000.
Awards were distributed to students excelling in SSLC, PUC and degree exam levels, by MLA U.T. Khader, who in a speech eulogised the founders on the good job by allocating funds for scholarships to meritorious students. Good deeds only are counted by God. He urged the students to stick to good deeds with their talents.
Vice-chancellor Chandra Mohan addressed the gathering and told the students that education was a process of bringing out the perfection already existing within a student. Parents and teachers should evaluate students to lead them in proper direction.
There are 200 recipients of awards, and there is a budget of Rs.10 lakhs for 235 students in 19 institutions. Prof. PCM Kunhi delivered Vote of thanks.
