Kundapura: Karnataka Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials raided the residence of Mookambika Sanctuary Zonal Forest Officer Shivarama Acharya on Thursday and took cash and other properties, property documents into their custody.
A 30 member ACB team led by ACB Superintendent SL Channabasappa raided his office, residences and other three locations which are belong to Shivarama. The raid was continued till evening from morning hours on Thursday and found that Shivarama doesn’t has any other source of income other than his post in the forest department. His wife is working as a teacher in a local government school.
The raid was conducted on a complaint that the forest officer has unaccounted properties including houses and land. The raid was found 37 cent land, two commercial complexes, 10 bank accounts, jewelry items worth Rs 10 lakh, Rs. 6.2 lakh cash, Swift, Maruti Cars and documents related to movable and immovable properties. The investigation team has also taken many diaries into its custody which contain the details of his financial transactions.
