Mangalore : ACC Ltd, India’s foremost cement manufacture and pioneer in cement and concrete technology, launched ‘Coastal+’, a premium eco-friendly cement brand at Hotel Gateway in Mangalore on November 10, Thursday.
Speaking after formally launched the product, Mr Ramit Budhraja, chief executive, South & West Region, ACC Limited, he said that the company is happy to offer ‘Coastal +’ to our consumers in Uttara Kannada, Udupi and Dakshina Kannada. These coastal belts have been of utmost importance to ACC and the launch of Coastal + are a next step towards customer satisfaction in this area. This product is a result of continuous efforts of our central technology support service centres. The company believes in offering home builders the finest cement to build their dream homes stronger and greener.
He also said that the company has launched the Coastal+ in Calicut, Kerala about a year back and the product has been widely accepted by the consumers as the preferred choice for all exterior applications.
The company operates a country – wide network of 7 ACC Help centres, a 24*7 working websites and as many as 120 ACC Help Vans all under the umbrella of ACC Help. This initiative of the company aims at guiding individual home builders to build their dream home at the same time to ensure consumer satisfaction.
He also said that this cement is very useful in coastal region since the coastal climate is very harsh and damaging to concrete structure, including the homes we live in. The chlorides and sulphates in sea breeze and ground water relentlessly attack the concrete structure, thereby weakening the structure and reducing its over-all life. Concrete made from coastal+ is more cohesive and thereby the concrete structures have low permeability compared to structures made with ordinary cement. Lower permeability results in higher protection from chloride and sulphate attacks, making the structures, including our homes more durable.
This cement is ideal for usage in foundations, roofing and all other sections being exposed to external environment.
With Coastal+, ACC also offers value-added services like guidance on good construction practices, testing of ingredients at site, site visits at different stages of construction, basic proportion design for concrete, testing performance of concrete structure. ACC will also offer durability tests like RCPT ( Rapid Chloride Penetration Test) and UPVT (Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Test) to customers who used Coastal +.
The company has sold 4000 to 5000 kilo tons of cement per month in Calicut and expect to have sale of 5000 kilo tons in Mangalore by January.
