Udupi : Those accused of waylaying an express bus and attacking its driver near Udyavar on June 9, Sunday night have surrendered before the police. They have even been granted bail. As per the complaint lodged by the victim driver Dinesh of Vishal Travels, five persons were in the Ritz car which intercepted the bus. Those included Yashpal Suvarna, the Fisheries Corporation Chairman and Udupi Councilor.
The other accused in the case are Yathish Kumar, Vishwanath and Shivakumar. It is said they had even beaten up Manjunath and Shamshuddin, drivers of two other buses who tried to help Dinesh.
Meanwhile, there is condemnation over the flash strike resorted to by bus drivers soon after the incident, resulting in inconvenience to public.
There are many who feel there was a need to put an end to reckless driving both by buses as well as private vehicles on the highway.
