Mangalore : Even as a committee constituted by Mangalore Police Commissionerate to probe into the ASI Srikala harassment case, is conducting its investigations, there are reports that the accused ACP TR Jagannath has been transferred to Bangalore.
ASI Srikala of Pandeshwar police station had recently lodged a complaint with Mangalore Police Commissioner Manish Kharbikar alleging that TR Jagannath was harassing her mentally and sexually and had also denied leave to her. She had also stated that she was finding it difficult to carry on her duty.
In Mangalore, several organizations including DYFI, Forum Against Atrocities on Women had also staged a protest seeking action against the accused ACP.
Now, even as a committee is probing the case the ACP is transferred. Earlier, there were also allegations that ASI Srikala was being pressurized to withdraw the complaint. A case of fraud had also been registered against her in one of the police stations.
