Ullal: In a tragic accident reported, a youth was killed on the spot after a lorry hit his scooter at Beeri, Kotekar on NH-66 on Wednesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Akthar (22) resident of Beeri, Perubail.

Reportedly Akthar was crossing the road at Beeri junction in his Honda Activa when a lorry coming from Kerala hit his scooter. A seriously injured Akthar succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

Akthar used to do centering work and was on his way to work when the accident occurred.

A case has been registered at Ullal police station.
