Bengaluru: Kannada actor Duniya Vijay has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. In September this year, he was arrested by the High Grounds Police for allegedly assaulting his gym trainer Maruthu Gowda.
Now, the actor is in the middle of yet another controversy.
This time around, his 18-year-old daughter from his first marriage, Monica, has accused Vijay, his second wife Keerthi Gowda, driver Mohammad, Hemanth and Vinod of abusing and assaulting her at his home.
She also claimed that they banged her head against a wall and threatened her.
According to reports, Monica and her mother Nagarathna had gone to Vijay’s house to pick up her clothes, car keys and other important documents. Following their visit, Vijay and others had assaulted them at his house on Monday (October 22).
It is said that Monica and Vijay were not on good terms with each other owing to several issues. Following the physical assault, Monica had filed a complaint with the Girinagar Police in Karnataka on Tuesday (October 23).
An FIR has been registered against Duniya Vijay, Keerthi Gowda, driver Mohammed, Hemanth and Vinod under Sections 341 (wrongful restraint), 324 (assault with deadly weapon), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
