Mangalore : I don’t understand the language of the film, Ijjodu, I can assure that it is a well settled film, said renowned bollywood actor Farooq Shaikh.
He was speaking during the release function of M. S. Sathyu’s film “Ijjodu” held at Mangalore’s New Chitra Theatre on July 23, Friday. He also said that, the film reflects the taste that compels the youths towards the cinema.
Educated and intelligent audience of South Kanara will accept this film and enjoy it. He urged the public to encourage Sathyu to direct more films in future, by viewing ‘Ijjodu’.
Sharing his experience during the making of film, M S Sathyu, said that when he began the film after 12 years, he was feared, but when he saw camera’s at the back and artistes in the front, he gained confidence.
The theatre owners Shankar Pai and Devdas Pai felicitated M S Sathyu, Farooq Shaikh and G S Bhaskar, while Ajith Kumar Rai Malady honoured them with the memento depicting the Mangalore’s Culture ‘Yakshagana’.
Actor Aniruddha and cinematographer G S Bhaskar also addressed the gathering on the occasion.
Prof T Shivashankar Murthy, Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University, Ln Patrick Patrao, Eswin Walter, Fr Stanley D’Souza and Dr Jacinta D’Souza were present on the dais.
