Mysuru: Kannada actor Darshan was involved in an accident in the early hours of Monday. Darshan was travelling with fellow actors Devraj and Prajwal Devraj, when their car ran into a divider near the Hinkal Bridge in Mysuru at 3.15 am.
The three were travelling with one of Prajwal’s friends when the incident occurred. They were in Mysuru for the shooting of the film Wodeyar and were travelling in an SUV when the driver lost control and crashed into a divider near Hinkal Bridge on Mysuru Ring Road.
All three actors were rushed to Columbia Asia Hospital and are currently receiving treatment. “We have received the patient (Darshan) early in the morning today and the doctors are evaluating the patient at the moment. He is not critical or in danger,” said Faraz, a hospital spokesperson.
The authorities said that Darshan seriously injured his right arm in the accident, Devraj suffered chest injuries and Prajwal suffered neck injuries.
“We will be revealing the full extent of the injuries shortly,” the hospital spokesperson said.
Officials at the Vanivilasa Puram Traffic Police Station are currently examining the incident, but are tight-lipped about the case. The car involved in the accident was reportedly missing when investigating officials reached the scene of the accident. The officials have also not been able to identify who was driving the car.
Darshan’s mother Meena Thogudeep, wife Vijayalakshmi and son Vinish have reached the hospital.
