Mangaluru: Additional bench of DK Consumer Forum was inaugurated by forum President C V Shobha on Friday at Mannagudde, Mangaluru.

Later, speaking to the reporters she said that the bench has received the order form state consumer forum to solve 318 cases from 2012 to 2014 within next six months.

“144 cases of 2012, 121 cases of 2013, 53 cases of 2014 will be scheduled for hearing from Friday onwards from morning 11 afternoon 2 and evening 3 to 5. Vishweshwar Bhat and Rajashekhar will be the president of the additional bench. The bench has been formed to solve the cases as soon as possible,” she said.

She further said that formation of additional bench was delayed due to many reasons like lack of personnel and others. Now a new president, one member and two other staffs has been deputed to the bench.

Speaking on the occasion DK Bar Council President S P Chengappa said that demand of several years has been fulfilled after the formation of bench. As the technology and products have been increased chances of betraying the consumers has also increased.

“People of DK are enough intelligent to file the case in consumer forum. To disburse the cases a soon as possible formation of additional bench was necessary,” he added.

Additional bench President Vishweshwar Bhat, member Rajshekhar and others were present.
