Mangalore : Hardly, a couple of days after union minister Veerappa Moily said that there was no question of inducting former CM Yeddyurappa into the Congress, now JD(S) State President HD Kumaraswamy too has ruled out any such possibility of taking Yeddy into the JD(S) fold.
Speaking to reporters in Mangalore on September 24, Monday, Kumaraswamy said the war which the JD(S) has waged against corruption would prove futile if Yeddyurappa is inducted into the party.
Asked why he chose to induct a once BJP man Nagaraj Shetty into the JD(S) fold, Kumaraswamy said Shetty has joined the JD(S) as an altogether new man. He also recalled how once a staunch Hindu activist Mahendra Kumar is now a part of JD(S) and has now been opposing communal forces.
Kumaraswamy accused the BJP government of misusing central funds for gearing up for assembly elections. He also came down heavily on the government for supporting the recent bundh and pointed out the cess on petrol was highest in Karnataka as is VAT.
