New Delhi : The consumers are likely to be in for more shocks after the recent shocker of a steep hike in petrol prices. A high level committee meeting led by Finance Minister Pranav Mukherjee to be held on May 25, Friday, is expected to discuss about a probable hike even in diesel and LPG prices.
An officer of the Finance Ministry revealed this on condition of anonymity. Meanwhile, even the oil companies are claiming that they are incurring a daily loss of Rs 500 crore due to sale of diesel, kerosene oil and LPG. Presently, the government is providing a subsidy of Rs 13.64 per liter of diesel, Rs 31 per liter of kerosene and Rs 479 per LPG cylinder.
