Mangaluru: “Agrala Purandara Rai has shown how to live a sophisticated life, through his life style,” said veteran writr Dr Yerya Lakshmi Narayan Alva.

He was speaking in a programme organised by Agrala Purandara Rai family and DK working journalists union to mark Agrala Purandara Rai’s 100th birth anniversary, on Wednesday.

“He created a new atmosphere wherever he went. Though he is not a well established writer, he found his life in writing,” he said.

Senior journalist G N Mohan said that Agrala had a habit of questioning each and every thing. Now the habit of questioning has been decreased, which has led to many problems. Agrala had also proved that religion and politics are not the same through his questions.

Writer Mahabaleshwar Bhat, ZP member M S Mohammad, JNU professor Dr Purushotham Bilimale and others were present.
