Mangalore : The annual Convention of Ahinda Party started by Congress Cm Siddaramaiha and led by Naveenchandra D Suvarna in DK District with B A Mohammad Haneef as its acting president, was held on Tuesday morning at the Town hall in Mangalore.
Suvarna speaking on the occasion after inaugurating the conference said that nothing has been done to elevate Minority communities in the state, backward classes (SC/ST) and OBC Dalits by the new government which is in power for 6 months now. Earlier, the upper classes had the rule for several years in BJP and Congress , as such the Ahinda Community remained neglected all these years. As long as political power remains in the hands of upper classes no depressed classes would be in a position of happiness. Rather they would suffer more due to calculated neglect by the ruling classes of the backward people.
Now there is a chance for the new CM and his government to uplift those who have fallen behind and alienated from the mainstream of the country in its progress, Suvarna said.
DK District unit of Ahinda leader Vasudev Boloor stated that the depressed classes will have to take up a fight in their hands to convince the present govt. how backward they have remained and redress matters.
Hameed Kandak another leader of Ahinda stated that Muslims were cornered as vote banks by the political parties only to capture power and not to do any good to the minority community that has helped them to gain seats of power.
The meeting was largely attended by poorer and citizens of coastal districts of DK, Udupi and Kasargod.
