Mangalore : AHINDA president Lolaksha in a press meet held at Hotel Woodlands said that they condemn the act of State government who has tapped the phone lines of Lokayukta Justice Santhosh Hegde.
He also said that even though the constitution has given right to life with privacy and dignity, the state government has attacked the right to expression of Justice Hegde. Even after knowing that Santhosh Hegde is Lokayukta chief they have insulted him by tapping his telephonic conversation.
Lolaksha also said that Santhosh Hegde has revealed that some of the BJP ministers and leaders including V S Acharya, Dhananjay Kumar and AG Kodgi had tried to influence him to drop Yeddyurappa’s name from the mining report.
He said that the state government has been constantly against the Lokayukta and the phone tapping has been going on for the last few months.
According to the report filed by the Lokayukta on Wednesday July 20 indicted that the chief minister and four BJP ministers are involved in illegal mining and who ever are guilty must be suspended from the post irrespective of party, he added.
This issue must be handed over to CBI probe, but if the state government itself stands guilty then who will hand over the case to CBI, he asked. The central government must think over the matter and expose the ministers involved.
He also said that Chief Minister Yeddyurappa has lost the moral value and right to rule the people of the state, hence he must resign from his post or President must dissolve the government, he added.
Members of AHINDA Suresh Shetty, Vasudev Boloor, PV Mohan, Haneef and others were present.
