Mangalore : The Dakshina Kannada District Federation of Education Resource Centres, Ahinda in association with SDM Law College organized a seminar on ‘Community Partnership on Right to Educational Act and implementation of law’ at Conference Hall of the College on May 10, Thursday.
Delivering the inaugural address, Badila Hussain, district leader of Navasaksharara Movement, DK District said that he was interested in establishing a school, but found difficult to find a land, later through the Right to information; it was made possible in the forest land, which is reserved for the public as per the law.
One can get information on various subject by actively participating in the public programmes and trusting people will help to face any problem in life, he said.
Participating as the chief guest, Janardhana Gowda, president of Social Justice Committee, ZP, said that today there is no work efficiency present in government officials. There is lot of differences found in the teaching quality in government and private schools.
Presenting the paper on the topic ‘Children’s Education Right: A Constitutional ideology’, Ahinda working president Lolaksha said that India is the country, where education was rejected from the past. Hence illiteracy is still continued haunting some communities in the name of god, religion and tradition.
He said that it is important that children’s Right to education is necessary at every level.
He said that Reservation in Educational Act in every school came in 2006, but apart from it there are various other factors to be followed in it. Article 21(A) of Right to Education was included in Indian Constitution in the year 2002, but was implemented in the year 2012. It was only possible with the observation of kind hearted Judges and not by MP’S or MLA’s.
Renny D’Souza, convener of CACL presented a paper on the subject on ‘Community Partnership on Right to Educational Act and implementation of law and its types’.
Umesh Nirmal, president of Education Resource Centres delivered the key note address. Dr B K Ravindra, principal of SDM Law College presided over the event.
