Mangalore : The Mangalore City Corporation in association with Dr M V Shetty College of Social Work organized the HIV/ AIDS Awareness Programme for the Paura Karmika’s at Council Hall, Mangalore City Corporation on Nov 22, Monday.
Speaking after inaugurating the programme, Deputy Mayor Rajendra Kumar said that the disease such as Aids is haunting people’s mind from past many years. Hence it is necessary to create awareness.
The organization hence will try to create the awareness to take up the precautionary measures to avoid the disease.
Presiding over the occasion, Shantha R, Chairperson, Standing Health Committee, MCC said that, if every people take necessary measures to avoid the deceases to lead a peaceful life.
Guest of Honour M C Prabhu, assistant general manager, Corporation Bank, said that according to the survey done on the Aids, there is an increase over the percentage of sufferers of Aids, he said.
Raghupathi, Assistant Health officer welcomed the guests and gathering. Dr M Ramgopal Shetty, founder secretary, Dr M V Shetty Memorial Trust participated as the chief guest.
Carol D’Souza, lecturer of Dr M V Shetty Memorial College was the resource person on the occasion. Harish Shetty, student co-ordinator proposed vote of thanks.
