Mangalore : The DK and Udupi district units of the All India Trade Union Congress staged a protest in front of the DC office on August 9, Thursday on the occasion of 70th Year of Quit India Movement.
The protestors demanded steps to curb inflation and fixing of Rs 10,000 minimum wages for labourers.They also demanded a monthly pension of Rs. 3,000 under the Bhavishya Nidhi pension Scheme, and action on the Lokayukta report on illegal mining
HV Rao, General Secretary of DK and Udupi district units of AITUC , P Sanjeeva, President of S K Beedi Workers Federation President P.Sanjeeva demanded that the government ensured firm steps to end corruption.
