Mangalore : The ESI Hospital located at Kadri was the hospital established for the laboureres, it has not seen any development in these 32 years, said Lokesh Hegde Puttur, president of Akhila Bharata Karmika Sangha.
Speaking at the press meet held at Hotel Foodland on October 14, Friday, he said that the office staffs in the hospital neglect the labourers during their treatment. Earlier, the Labour Ministry has suspended the Kadri ESI Hospital Superintendent Gopalkrishna on the charges of sexually harassing the lady staff of the hospital and later appointed Dr Ashok Kumar in his post and he is not also working for the facility of the poor labourers. Hence he urged the department to suspend the present superintendent and appoint a strict officer in the post.
The hospital has no proper facility, no doctors and no proper staffs and provides no service to the ESI card holders, hence the Sangha along with labour minister and officers and members will stage the indefinite hunger strike in front of ESI hospital unless they fulfill some of the demands.
