Mangaluru: All College Students Association to hold ‘Rastha Roko’ movement on October 6, against the state government for not responding to the voices of DK people to stop Yettinahole project.
Addressing the gathering association legal advisor Dinakar Shetty said that the behavior of the state government over Yettinahole project has pained the people of Dakshina Kannada.
“Demanding to stop Yettinahole project the association will hold ‘Rastha Roko’ movement on October 6 at 11.30 am at Besant Circle, Mangaluru. The government is showing dual nature in Cauvery water row and Yettinahole project. The government is thinking that DK is not a part of Karnataka,” he said.
He further said that the chief minister had promised to hold a meeting regarding the issue during his visit to the district. After that statement CM visited the district for three times, but no meeting has been organized. The government is not listening to state and national level leaders as well as heads of various religions.
“The association has also planned to protest in front of MP Oscar Fernandes’s house, as well as the protests will be held against former CM Yeddyurappa. Former CM’s of Karnataka are visiting the district without the consent of public,” he added.
Association leaders Shifalraj, Ashwath Kottari, Mala K J, Nishit devadiga, Dhanushri and others were present.
