Mangalore: The All College Students Union has decided to stage a one day hunger strike on November 10 in order to pressurize the authorities to undertake a CBI probe into the Sowjanya murder case in Dharmasthala and also to arrest all the accused in the case of the death of St Anns Student Deepika who had died allegedly due to medical negligence.
This was informed to reporters here on November 6, Tuesday by Dinaker Shetty, Legal Advisor of the Union.
He said in the Sowjanya murder case, the as well as in Deepika death case the department had failed to conduct a transparent investigation.
They also said that the increasing cases of atrocities on female students has instilled a sense of fear in the student community.
At the same time, the Union strongly condemned the oral orders of the district administration against conducting any dharna or protest in front of the DC office.
All College Students Union President Uttam Alva, and other office bearers were present.
