Mangalore : All Kerala Tantri Samaj to conduct ‘Nakshatra Vraksha’ programme at Sri Vilayitthur Sri Kuttichathan temple, Payyoli from September 1 to September 12.

Speaking at the press meet held at Sharadha Vidyalaya School hall on July 15, Monday, president of Tantri Community, Eshani Namboodri, said that on Sep 8, all the renowned tantri’s of Kerala will perform the special puja to the one Nakshatra Vraksha (Star plant) and distribute among the devotees and involve themselves in spiritual, religion, culture and thought to protect the common public.

He said that the puja here is not just performed to the idols, but to the god found in mother and nature giving a meaning to the life of people.

Former president Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, Defence minister A K Antony’s, Union Minister K K Gopal, Lok Sabha opposition minister Sushma Swaraj, CPIM chief Brinda Karat will particiapate in the 12 days programmes.

Apart from it scientists, thinkers, film stars are also expected to participate, he added.

Sri Vishweshwara Teertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt said that neglecting the environment is the major reason for the natural calamities taking place these days. Hence performing such kind of programme to create awareness on nature and worshipping it will protect people from calamities. Hence I would render full support to the programme, he said.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Dr R S Sharma, Kodeyoor Jayanarayan, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, Harikrishna Punaroor, M B Puranik, Sulochana G K Bhat and others were present.
