Mangaluru: District in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary said in a meeting, all shops selling daily use items, vegetables, fruits and milk will be open only between 7 am and 12 pm.
Medical shops, cooking gas delivery services, refuelling bunks and banks will be open as usual.
MLA Nalin Kumar Kateel, also at the meeting, stated that under no circumstances will the border entry points into Karnataka from Kerala will be opened.
He further added that they are discussing conditional openings of the border, however, people must not fear anything.
He explained that due to an increase in the number of COVID-19 positive cases in neighbouring Kerala the border was sealed to prevent the entry of people from there into Dakshina Kannada district.
The priority right now is the safety of the district’s residents and any measure for it will be taken.
