Mangaluru: Congress president Rahul Gandhi will release the Karnataka election manifesto here on Friday, according to M Veerappa Moily, chairman of the party’s manifesto drafting committee of the party.
Addressing press persons here on Thursday, Moily said the manifesto comes in three parts — for the entire State, for the four revenue divisions, and for each of the 30 districts.
Each region or district has its own aspirations, he said, adding: “Our aim was that the election manifesto should respond to the aspirations of each region or district.”
Moily said the 15-member manifesto drafting committee was constituted four months ago. It held comprehensive meetings in Mangaluru, Bengaluru, Hubballi, Kalaburagi and Chitradurga to get feedback from all levels — from the grassroots to the regional leaders. Experts from different sectors were also roped in.
The committee also discussed ways to bring back Bengaluru as the Garden City, and made plans for the education sector.
