Mangalore:  A one-day seminar on ‘Allama-Ondu Pravesha’ was held at Sahodaya Conference Hall in Mangalore on April 6, Saturday under the auspices of Allama Prabhu Peetha Kantavara in association with Sharana Sahitya Parishad Karnataka and Karnataka Theological Research Institute.

Harikrishna Punaroor, former president of the Kannada Sahitya Parishat, inaugurated the seminar and lauded the Peetha for organizing a very enlightening seminar.

Professor O L Nagabhooshana Swami, Karnataka Sahitya Academy Award Winner, presided over the function.

Prof. KE Radhakrishna, Founder of SA-MUDRA, Educationalist and Adviser to the Bangalore North Education Society, who delivered the key-note address, said the great poet Allama Prabhu tried to bring about a change in the society through his poems. He also spoke boldly about the materialistic world, Prof Radhakrishna said. He described Allama Prabhu as a true democratic and secularist.

Working President, Allama Prabhu Peeta, Yashodhar P Karkera welcomed the gathering, Adviser Allama Prabhu Peeta, Dr Na Mogasale spoke about the Allama Prabhu Peeta. Dr V Chandrashekhar Nangali spoke on the History and life of Allama Prabhu,while  Dr B Shivaram Shetty spoke on the spiritual message of Allama. Writer Basavaraj Kalugudi and others spoke on the occasion.
