Mangalore: Consequent upon the elevation of Shanker M. Bidri as DGP-IGP on Nrupatunga Road, a sudden reshuffle in the police department took place on Saturday to move Alok Mohan, IGP (Western Range) on promotion. But the post is not specified. Mohan came to Mangalore on 26-08-2010, just 15 months ago.

Pratap Reddy, IGP (Fire Services) is likely to take over the vacancy. The Western range covers 4 districts, 3 on the coast and Chikkamagalur. Shimoga has been alienated.

Earlier, CM had stated that no transfers would take place until April 2012, anywhere.
