Moodabidri: An exciting and heart-warming Alva’s Virasat (heritage) music festival, is almost started from Wednesday, January 4 at Shobhavana, as a national cultural event with all preparations reaching final stages.
About 10,000 music-loving people from all over Indian and abroad, will be accommodated and seated in a large pandal at the main venue, and there is a gallery built to take in another 2000 admirers and well-wishers.
On the New Year, January 1,2012, Dr.M. Mohn Alva’s son Vivek married Varsha here, at the same venue on a Sunday.
Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmastala several forms of music, Northern, Southern, Dadra, Thumri, Ghazals and so on.
Traditional hanging lamps can be seen along main entrance to the venue, welcoming all visitors and well-wishes.
The great event, started 2 decades ago in Mahaveera College has gained fame as an international draw. Dr. Alva, as a man of the world, would have it as a global event soon.
It is organised by Alva’s Education standing alone, with generous contributions from patrons.
